A Little Bit About Me

Ever since I can remember, it’s always been a dream of mine to become a Wedding & Event Planner. As odd as it sounds, the movie “The Wedding Planner” inspired me to pursue a career in the hospitality industry. My passions and motives seemed to align with everything the movie represented. I immediately knew that this would be my dream job… to live and breathe planning; never forgetting the motto “everyday should be celebrated to the fullest.”
Recently I decided it was time to venture out on my own. Taking the knowledge and skills I have acquired over the years; I was able to accomplish my dream of starting my own business.
Originally from a small town in Arkansas, I found my way to College Station, Texas to attend Texas A&M University (Class of 2019, Whoop!). While juggling multiple classes and serving tables, I also worked for several different event companies putting on races ranging from marathons to triathlons, in Texas and even Alaska.
During my studies, I received two Certificates in Tourism and Professional Event Management. My last two years in college, I was a part of the Texas A&M Event Planning Committee and worked with my department to put on a wide variety of prestigious events for the University and its' Community.
Driven by our love for nature and the outdoors, my husband and I, along with our two dogs, decided to leave the Lone Star State right after graduating to see what Colorado had to offer. I began working for an all-inclusive event company as an Event Coordinator, working weddings and corporate events. I planned, catered, helped with décor, florals (you name it!) from Vail all the way down to Colorado Springs.
After starting Candlelight Events, I have been blessed with the opportunity to put on weddings all around the beautiful state of Colorado.
Sometimes it’s nice to be a guest at your own event, so let me help you create an event that you will love, without all the stress. Not having to worry about set-up and break-down means you can relax and focus on enjoying the best moment of your lives with your friends and family.
